Somali Pirates Are In Your Canal, Stealing Your Games.
So the industry loves to bash on pirates stealing their games right? Well this time they are right. Only its not people pirating software, it's really pirates. That's right REAL pirates, off the coast of Somalia (that's right on the Horn of Africa for the geographically impaired) are attacking shipments going into the Gulf of Suez towards the Suez Canal and Europe. These shipments include video games (hey, even pirates need a way to relax after a long day singing piratey tunes and burying treasure), many that are being shipped for the holiday season. While this doesn't effect those of us in North America, Europeans may have a hard time finding gifts for their vidya playing friends this winter.
I really don't have much to say on this, other than it's completely awesome (read awesome as FUCK YEAH PIRATES). I mean you have to love the irony that companies are having to deal with REAL pirates. And come on, who doesn't love pirates, they are the definition of fuckwin awesome. Sure we can try to feel bad for Europe knowing they will short a few copies of some games, but we know no one really cares about them anyway, Europe is like the Canada of the world. All those silly accents and Latin based languages concentrated on such a small continent, they really are just asking for it. Well there are still those Germanic language countries, I guess we can share our games with them (except England, they are totally lame, go back to your "Ahl-lue-miny-yum gae-rahges" with your tea and crumpets), LAN party in Scandinavia!
