Perhaps you know Blizzard? I'm positive you know World of Warcraft. But have you ever heard of Starcraft? Starcraft is a real time strategy game that allows the player to battle other alien races, just imagine Age of Empires in space. The first Starcraft came out in 1998, and ten years later we are just hearing about a sequel.

No I'm insulting your mom... I'm just quoting Starcraft producer Chris Sigaty. In an interview with MTV Sigaty said, "I'm going to try to get my mom to play this game". Now I don't know if you're mom is like this, but I'm pretty sure my mom doesn't know how to turn on the computer let alone install Starcraft II, let alone play it.

But what Sigaty is actually talking about is Blizzard's attempt to make Starcraft II, more user friendly. I'm not really sure Starcraft II is the best game to test out a new approach to attracting casual gamers. Blizzard has a patent on their real time strategy formula, and right now its working. So with a big sequel on the way, I'm a little wary when Sigaty says this, I mean I'm all for trying new things, but you take a gamble when you already have something good going for you... you might end up a complete failure and piss quite a few people off in the process.

The Bottom Line: I'm a little apprehensive with Starcraft II, nonetheless I am looking forward to their new game.
