Halo 3: Recon Featured in Game Informer
The Halo series is one of the most popular and best selling video game trilogies in video game history. Halo tells the story of a super soldier named Master Chief as he and humanity wages war against the Covenant. So if you are like me, you were saddened when Halo 3 came out and finished the trilogy, for me that meant no more new games, but don't worry because you and I have something to look forward to: Halo 3: Recon.
Bungie is taking this new project in a different direction than the last few games. Instead of a continuation of Halo 3, this is more accurately described as an expansion. Unfortunately it means you don't get to play as the iconic Master Chief, no shields, no one-man army. Halo 3: Recon takes place on earth and follows the exploits of a lone Orbital Drop Shock Troopers in the war torn city of New Mombasa.
While there's been two trailers released, still there's a lot left to be said. Good thing Game Informer is doing a ten page spread on Halo 3: Recon in their December issue. Unfortunately, there won't be any screenshots from the actual game. In an article on Gamespot describing the Game Informer article, Bungie lead desgin, Joe Bertone described the game as a "three to five hour experience", that's a little depressing, since that really isn't that long. On the plus side, Joseph Staten, the cinematic director,is quoted saying, "we do not view this as a $60 title".
Bottom Line: Look for the Halo 3: Recon article in Game Informer...
