Waiting for Games That are Already Out???

I just bought Dead Space today. Choosing whether to get it for Xbox 360 or PC was a bit of a dilemma for me, or at least it should have been. When I got to Best Buy I came to discover that yet another new game had screwed us PC gamers over. The so called "release" of the game was only for the console version and the PC will not be available until later. So, needless to say I bought the Xbox version. I'm a very impatient person and since I don't have a car anymore I rarely make it to the store now. However, I am away from my Xbox so I won't be able to try the game for a couple days.
I love consoles and playing games on them as much as the next gamer, but I'm a computer guy at heart and I always will be. This is why I am so annoyed at all the crap I have had to put up with to play computer games lately. What Tagger said about DRM is probably the worst of this, but having to wait for everything is also really annoying. A PC version of a game is the same as the console one, so if it's done enough to be released on a console, it's done enough to be released on PC.
I'm sure people can give all sorts or half-ass reasons for the PC version to be delayed, but I have yet to hear one that I consider to be good. Make a robust program for the wide range of hardware setups used by gamers can be hard, but that's what patches are for. I know there's big a ton of ruckuss about pirating computer games lately and what not too, but it's entirely possible to pirate console games also. Modchips are commercially available, and they keep getting easier and easier to install. Secondly, I know from experience that you can download anything (whether it's actually out or not) on the internet if you look in the right places and have a little experience.
I guess companies just want everyone to switch over to console gaming, but annoying us PC gamers will only serve to make us mad. No one is going to give up because of this nonsesne. If anything, we'll just pirate more to either get back at companies to gain access to things sooner.I admit console gaming is becoming the vast majority, but there are still a lot of die-hard PC gamers and I doubt we will ever go away.
Sorry I don't have a source, I'm saying this purely from memory of some charts I have seen.
