So I was browsing VGcats hoping for an update (I know expecting an update on time from VGcats is madness, but I do enjoy the comics, better than some video game webcomics *cough*, but that's another topic), when I saw a link to Gang Garrison 2. As the name suggests, it's a parody of Team Fortress 2 (I'm predicting either spy update or meet the spy next patch), in 2d shooter/platformer form. The game focuses around 2fort's 2d counterpart, 2dfort ("Facuet" takes every chance they can to poke fun at Valve's names), as you capture the intelligence from little NES style sprites of your favorite classes. The classes are pretty much exactly the same as in the real TF2, minus a few weapons and abilities. What is really amazing for a fan made game, is not only is it fun to play, but it still holds true to the rock – paper -scissors style of class vs class game play valve managed to create. I personally love the 8-bit style team fortress theme that they put in the game, but what can I say, I'm the type of person who spends their free time transposing In The Hall Of The Mountain King into MIDI code to plug into the music composer on Mabinogi. The only thing that really annoyed me was the lack of a chat box, but the group of people behind the project are still making adjustments, so I wouldn't be surprsied if something was added soon. There's really not much more to this game than that, it's a simple concept really, and the readme file that comes with it will tell you anything you need to know, its just a cool little fan made game that most people will never hear about.
